Aries Dubs

This is a website for a DJ and producer called Aries. The site is to represent a step-up and away from the mySpace-type web presence to something a little bit more customisable and, ahem, perhaps a little more professional than is possible with mySpace.

Aries is a DJ with over a decade of experience and a producer for about half that time. He has had releases on Co-Lab Recordings, Roots, and Pure Vibez amongst others and has garnered interest across the scene from Bailey (1Xtra) to Shy FX (Digital Soundboy). He is currently about to embark on a tour of the Czech Republic and Bosnia later this spring.

The technical details – it is a Wordpress site using the theme F8 which has then been customised for the artist’s needs. It also utilises the WP-ecommerce plugin to enable selling of MP3s from the site, under the complete control of the artist.

Co-Lab Recordings

Co-Lab re-design

I’ve been working with Co-Lab for a few years now and they have requested a redesign to freshen things up a little. The ideas are at a preliminary stage and hopefully the new Co-Lab should appear by the spring.

They are going to be migrated across to Wordpress to enable them to keep closer control of editing and content delivery.

The general look of the site is to be evolved but there is to be a paring back of the ‘cruft’ that has built up in day to day usage over the previous two years. A streamlining of the home-page is both overdue and necessary and represents the primary focus of the redesign.

The label goes from strength to strength, boasting a wealth of talent including Heist, Malfoy, The Force, Aries and others.

The first album by Co-Lab was released last year after a number of years releasing vinyl EPs. This was followed by a successful tour and things are looking very bright for 2009 and beyond for this respected drum & bass label.
